Our wine guy’s top picks for fall

Jorge-Barandiaran

Hello fall! Look out for our new menu coming soon but in the meantime our wine guy Jorge Barandiaran has picked out his top three wines for entertaining at home this season, whether you’re having a Thanksgiving party or a cozy night in. Cheers!

1) Bella 2013 “East Side” Blanc de Blancs Sparkling ($23.90)
“Nothing says “party” like a bubbly wine! This beautiful wine is brand new to our by the glass line up and would be a great option for greeting friends and family at the door. One hundred per cent Chardonnay makes for a slightly richer sparkling wine, which is perfect for roasted root vegetables and anything covered in butter!”

2) Azienda Agricola Ariana Occhipinti ‘SP68’ 2013 ($33.99)
“This is one of my current favourites. It’s not your traditional dark, viscous southern Italian red wine – this wine is bright and juicy with raspberry, cherry fruits and fresh herbs. Perfect for roasted turkey and stuffing with fresh herbs and dried fruit.”

3) Lustau ‘East India Solera’ Sherry (Around $40)
“This delicious Sherry has incredible balance and is a great standalone wine. However, the caramel, nut and dried fruit flavours make it an ideal pairing with pumpkin pie – especially with large spoonfuls of whipped cream on it!”
